OCR PDF Guide

Learn to convert scanned PDF files to searcheable PDF files using the OCR PDF API Rest.

Remember that in order to use our Tool Guides, you need to have previous knowledge about the basics to processing a PDF with our REST API. We strongly recommend that you read the Processing a PDF guide before starting this one.

Basic OCR PDF

You may have seen how compress works in previous guides, it is very easy as you will see in this code:

Basic compress

// Create a new task
$myTask = $ilovepdf->newTask('pdfocr');
// file var keeps info about server file id, name...
// it can be used latter to cancel file
$file = $myTask->addFile('/path/to/file/document.pdf');
// process files
$myTask->execute();
// and finally download file. If no path is set, it will be downloaded on current folder
$myTask->download();
